La Sagesse School is the only remaining independent girls' Catholic foundation in the North East of England and accepts girls aged 3-18. To fund an ongoing bursary and scholarship fund, the School decided to launch a £1m Appeal and approached Sandcliff for advice. Sandcliff conducted a feasibility study and the results gave the School the confidence to proceed with the Appeal's launch. A new target of £500,000 was set.
Sandcliff was commissioned to help plan the Appeal. The Appeal Manager, who had little prior fundraising knowledge, received two months of intensive training.
The early stages of the Appeal have been very successful:
- A full Appeal Office was set up with systems in place and the new Appeal Manager was trained in the skills and processes necessary to guide future fundraising
- As 'sagesse' in French means 'wisdom', the choice of branding; "The Wise Owls Appeal", proved popular
