The Joint Educational Trust (JET) offers children who have suffered tragedy or trauma at home the opportunity to reach their potential in the stable environment offered by an independent school. Unfortunately, the annual accounts from 1997 onwards were offering grim reading to the Trustees and Director of JET. Income was on the downturn and expenditure was climbing. The work was vital, so the investment reserves were tapped for core running costs. This situation was obviously unsustainable. During the summer of 2000, JET commissioned Sandcliff to undertake a Fundraising Audit and Evaluation and make recommendations on future income generation.
As a result of our recommendations we are delighted to report that the financial situation has turned around and at long last JET are reporting a surplus on their accounts. The Case for Support document, written by Sandcliff, has been used to great effect and enabled one trustee to raise £40,000 in a single evening.
