The past really comes alive in Dudley and history lives on in the traditional craftsmanship of Dudley's glass industry. As well as the constantly changing exhibitions and programmes run by Dudley Museum and Art Gallery, visitors can take a trip around the Red House Glass Cone, the finest example of a glass cone complex in the world. The Museums Service also tells the fascinating story of glass at Broadfield House Glass Museum with displays dating back to Roman times.
External funding has been achieved through a variety of sources and the Council and Council Officers are enthusiastic about further planned and controlled development of donated income. The Museums Service approached Sandcliff to assist with the development of a pro-active corporate strategy for fundraising and sponsorship.
Museums' Services like Dudley do not necessarily have access to the 'great and good' who support many independents and nationals. Nor can they rely on an organisational wide understanding of the benefits that well-managed fundraising can bring.
